16-year-old dies after shooting at Oklahoma high school football game 2023 – High School

Police say that a shooting at a high school football game in Oklahoma on Friday resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy.

According to a statement released by the Choctaw Police Department, shots were fired on the visitor’s side of Choctaw High School’s stadium during the third quarter of their game against Del City High School on Friday.

A contention between no less than two men prompted the shooting, police said.

On Aug. 25, 2023, shots were fired during a football game at Choctaw High School in Choctaw, Okla., and people fled the scene. The incident resulted in injuries to at least four others, including a 42-year-old man who was shot in the chest and is now stable in the intensive care unit, according to police.

An official with the Del City Police Division released his gun at the scene, which the Oklahoma Area Sheriff’s Office is researching as an official included shooting. For reasons of safety, there were two Del City police officers present at the scene.

The Choctaw Police Division additionally had five officials at the game for security purposes, as is standard for home games.
